Overview
The ISTA CO₂ External Reactor (12 mm) is a compact, high-efficiency inline CO₂ atomizer that attaches to your canister filter’s return line. Using a patented dual-rotor impeller, it thoroughly mixes CO₂ and tank water—achieving near-total dissolution before re-entering the aquarium.
Key Features
- Patented impeller design: Twin rotors finely crush CO₂ bubbles, preventing gas accumulation and boosting dissolution efficiency .
- Ceramic atomizer core: Provides high-efficiency diffusion with no additional CO₂ loss at the surface .
- Compact & external: Installed outside the tank, it preserves aesthetic design and saves internal space .
- Durable & acid-resistant: High-quality plastic construction is tough and long-lasting
- Tool-free maintenance: Holds secure suction cups and is easy to clean; disassembles quickly for ceramic tube replacement .
- No power required: Utilizes existing filter flow—no electricity needed .

Why Choose This Reactor?
- Maximum CO₂ utilization: Impeller+ceramic combo dissolves nearly all CO₂ into the water, reducing wastage .
- Visual flow monitoring: Transparent housing allows easy inspection of water and CO₂ mixing .
- Compact installation: Installed externally—removes clutter from inside the tank.
- Durability & low maintenance: Resistant to acidic CO₂; easy to clean and maintain for years .
Installation & Care
- Connect reactor on the canister filter’s return hose (12–16 mm). Add CO₂ tubing to inlet.
- Secure unit with suction cups on the tank’s exterior.
- Adjust CO₂ flow via your regulator and monitor bubble count in the reactor chamber.
- Clean semi-annually—open assembly, rinse ceramic tube in tank water or mild vinegar.
